This course will give you a firm foundation for your ongoing practice and exploration of Yoga.
Offering you guidance and support
Mardi will be your guide throughout this course. She is passionate about helping beginners on their journey into Yoga and wellbeing. Her approach to teaching is warm, accessible, authentic and joyful. In Sanskrit (the ancient written language of India), ‘Bija’ means seed – symbolising the potential and growth inherent within the practice of Yoga, as well as within ourselves.
COURSE ESSENTIALS – What you will learn
Throughout this course, students will learn and explore the basic foundations or ‘seeds’ of Yoga – with a particular focus on:
EMBODIED ASANA – Physical Postures
Students will learn key foundational Yoga postures to enhance strength, flexibility and balance. Natural alignment principles and variations for each Asana (Posture) will also be taught, to ensure everyone experiences the benefits of Yoga.
PRANAYAMA – Understanding the power of the Breath
Students will explore simple breath awareness techniques, which will help to cultivate vital energy, promote relaxation and develop a deeper sense of calm within the Body and Mind.
PRACTICAL MEDITATION + DEEP REST – An essential part of life
Students will learn simple, practical techniques for deep relaxation and approaching daily life with a greater sense of clarity, ease and peace – no matter what is happening!
CULTIVATING AWARENESS – of Body, Breath, Mind and Heart
As we move through this Course, we will explore what it means to be awake and aware. When we practice mindfully, with a natural curiosity and kindness towards ourselves, we begin to touch the Heart of Yoga – our true Nature!
YOGA – A precious gift to ourselves
Yoga is Alive! An ever-flowering, unfolding practice, and the daily benefits it brings, support and nourish us on every level of our Being. Ultimately, Yoga is a precious gift to Self. When we reconnect with ourselves, we give to ourselves. When we care for ourselves, we’re more able to care for others and the world around us.
Yoga is a path of growth, transformation and wholistic wellbeing. In time, these first seeds of Yoga begin to take root in our daily lives. From simple foundations, our Practice grows organically, and we naturally start to dive deeper into Yoga, and our relationship to all of Life. In the beginning, all we need to do, is plant the seeds…
I look forward to meeting you soon!
